Between the Red Devil & the deep Blue Sea
Before the standard few interesting things about this map I must take the time to describe how this is all setup. The map at the top of the page shows the base names and numbers. The numbers follow the order of English in that they are listed left to right and top to bottom on all maps. Making it easier to figure out the numbered bases even if you have forgotten to print out your cheat sheet. When we had just one demo map, we all began using the names of the bases in that map (hotel, olive, river) so I started to think we would just use their proper names. But once 11 more maps came along, I haven't heard much use of proper base names yet minus the obvious ones (constructions, tv stations, etc) So the base numbering system has returned to make an appearance.
Also the maps have road names, the second small map and accompanying text show the names of no more than 5 streets on each map. 5 x 12 = 45683 or something so this will cut down on the huge list of street names that could have been created. Does it have every street that could be in it? No, is it possible to remember a mere 5 per map, you bet.
The last map has been HIGHLY influenced by the gorgeous design of the Prima guide, who I’m damn sure will send armed thugs to knock down my door any minute now. Hey, I Love you guys! Just send a cease and desist order and I’ll remove um after everyone has a chance to print them out, lol. The bottom map lists out all the vehicles and emplacements on 32 player maps helping us to figure out who gets what at the start of matches, and how they can most effectively be used. As well as the Chess design of base value.
The only small tactic I have to list about this map is to mine the maintenance building to the south inside. This forces the NME to either abandon their vehicles to enter to cap the flag, or stay in them and thereby NOT able to cap the flag due to the mines in their way, either way, it holds them up long enough for help to arrive. Keep in mind the enemy can Still cap the south flag from above the building in the air, which is a tad cheap, but effective. Lastly, if you are US, and get a foothold on land, keep it at all costs, once you are beaten back to the carrier, it’s double tough to get back on land with all their guns pointing East.
